On December 10, we organized, together with Mining Finland and the National Directorate for Investment Promotion of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, the "Seminar on Cooperation in the Mining Sector between Argentina and Finland".
The event aimed to strengthen business, investment, and technological cooperation ties, while also fostering institutional and corporate collaboration in the mining sector of both countries. Opening remarks were offered by Ambassador Carlos Mascias and Aleksi Salo Aleksi Salo, CEO of Mining Finland.
We were honored to have the participation of Mario Thiem, Argentina’s Undersecretary for Mining Development, who presented an overview of the sector and highlighted the main opportunities within Argentina’s mining industry.
We were also privileged to have Ambassador Titta Maja-Luoto from the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Ambassador of Finland to Argentina Nicola Lindertz as speakers, together with representatives from Business Finland and Finnpartnership.
The seminar further explored the scientific and technological capacities of both countries and the opportunities for cooperation, with presentations by the Argentine Geological and Mining Service (SEGEMAR) and the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK).
The corporate perspective was represented through presentations by Metso Finland, Impulsa Mendoza, CAMYEN Mining and Energy Company (Catamarca), and the Argentine Chamber of Mining Entrepreneurs (CAEM).
In addition, financing possibilities in the sector were discussed through valuable presentations by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB).
We would especially like to thank Mining Finland, and all speakers and participants for their contributions to this fruitful space for dialogue and cooperation.
