International Human Rights Award Emilio F. Mignone 2022 Edition: "One hundred years after his birth"

The call for nominations for the International Human Rights Award Emilio F. Mignone 2022 Edition: "One hundred years after his birth" is open. In this edition on the centenary of his birth we praise his pioneering role in the defense of Human Rights in the Argentine Republic and in the world.

Applications may be submitted until September 30, 2022.

To present a candidacy, the institution or person must complete a FORM that can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, in English and Spanish, at the following links:

The award ceremony will take place on December 13th (a date that may be subject to change) within the framework of Human Rights Day, which is celebrated on December 10th in commemoration of the approval by the United Nations General Assembly of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

The ceremony will be presided over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina, authorities from the National Human Rights Secretariat, the Center for Legal and Social Studies (CELS) and the Mignone family, alongside other government authorities, members of human rights organizations, diplomatic corps accredited in Argentina and the general public.

The winner of the Prize will also receive a reproduction of a work of art by the Argentine plastic artist León Ferrari.

The Mignone Award 2022 will also include an invitation to the person or a representative of the awarded institution to visit the Argentine Republic for approximately one week. This includes air tickets from the place of residence in economy class, hotel and per diem. During their visit to the city of Buenos Aires, the winner will have an agenda of meetings and activities with government institutions, human rights organizations, academic institutions and the press, among others. The agenda will be agreed with the winner according to the specific theme to which it is dedicated.
