INFORMATION DAY ON THE MERCOSUR-EU AND MEXICO-EU AGREEMENTS

On June 9, Ambassador Carlos Mascias participated as a guest speaker at the "Information Day on the EU-Mercosur and EU-Mexico Agreements", organized by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event focused on business opportunities between Estonia and Latin America in light of these agreements, with opening remarks delivered by Estonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Margus Tsahkna.

Ambassador Mascias took part in a panel discussion alongside the Ambassador of Brazil, Rosimar da Silva Suzano, Ambassador of Mexico, Enrique Rojo Stein, and Uruguay's Consul, Andrea Bais Gastaldi. The panel was moderated by the Director of the Foreign Trade and International Economic Organisations Department, Mr. Kenneth Kopamees.

During his remarks, Ambassador Mascias highlighted Argentina’s potential for attracting investment, as well as the opportunities to strengthen trade ties between Estonia and Argentina in key sectors such as energy, mining and forestry. He also underscored the importance of leveraging the opportunities offered by the EU–Mercosur Agreement to deepen bi-regional cooperation and technology transfer.
