Between the 16th and the 19th of January, 2014, Argentina participated for the first time at the MATKA Nordic Travel Fair, which takes place every year at the Messukeskus fair center in Pasila (Helsinki). Argentina introduced itself to the visitors at a 20 sqm stand located in the area assigned to Latin America and the Caribbean, staffed with representatives of the National Institute of Tourism (INPROTUR ), the Tourism Support Programme (PTURI) of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, Aerolineas Argentinas and the Embassy of Argentina in Helsinki.
This year the fair welcomed almost 67.000 visitors, from Finland as well as from Scandinavia, the Baltics and Russia, therefore maintaining its status as the main tourism fair in Northern Europe.
