Last Wednesday, May 28, the fourth edition of Malbec World Day took place at Vanha Ylioppilastalo (Mannerheimintie 3, Helsinki). Malbec World Day is an international celebration not only to pay tribute to the most emblematic strain of Argentina, Malbec, but also to enjoy the tasting of other varieties which have made Argentina one of the leading wine producers in the world.
This year´s festivity exalted Argentina´s musical culture under the theme: "To the beat of Malbec”. From its ancient origins, bacchanalian parties appealed to the liberation of the senses through sensuality and movement. This year, through the music, we wanted the audience to feel the rhythmic quality of Argentine wine. The beat of Malbec is like its taste: untamed, intense and vigorous.
Under this theme, Wines of Argentina and the Embassy in Finland in collaboration with Viini magazine, hosted a wine tasting which will gather more than 25 Argentine wineries to delight the audience with a unique pairing: wine and tango.
