Last week the new visa system for granting high security visas was implemented in the Argentine Embassy in Finland as part of a process of modernization of the consular documents to meet the highest international security standards. Under the same process new Emergency and Provisional Passports were also implemented.
Every year during the months of July and August the Consular Section grants a great number of visas to young Finns, Estonians and Latvians who chose our country as the destination of their exchange student year.
Today one of these students, the Finnish Emilia Halen, 17, was happy to receive her passport with a visa to enter our country in less than three weeks and begin her exchange year in the municipality of General Madariaga, in the Province of Buenos Aires.
Emilia will be hosted by three Argentine families and will attend the Agricultural School (la Escuela Agraria N°1). She has never been outside Europe before and is exited to learn about our country, which she spontaneously identifies with "football, wine and tango". The main objective she sets for her exchange year is to learn about our culture and learn our language.
We wish Emilia as well as all the other students who are starting their exchange in our country a beautiful experience in Argentina.
