Tanino Dúo in Helsinki

During the 17-18th of February, an Argentine tango and folk group, Tanino Dúo will be visiting Helsinki.

Tanino is an ensemble from Buenos Aires, formed by the unique blend of two instruments with strong argentine roots: the Spanish guitar and the chromatic harmonica. For six years, the group has been performing in theaters, milongas and music festivals of Argentina, the rest of Latin America and Europe. The duo is formed by Fernando Sánchez (guitar) and Santiago Álvarez (harmonica), both teachers from the School of Popular Music of Avellaneda, Argentina. 

In cooperation with the International School of Music Finland and the Global Music Centre Tanino Dúo will be conducting two World Music Workshops at the Global Music Centre, Hämeentie 34 D, Helsinki.

1. Rhythmic patterns of each style and their performance nuances
2. Phrasing, articulation and interpretation of melodies
3. Basic and more advanced patterns and techniques of accompaniment and harmony

In addition, on Saturday February 17, in cooperation with Agencia Latina & Helsinki Tango Week Tanino Dúo will be performing in the Rikhardinkatu library.
