ARGENTINA TO HOST THE WINTER SWIMMING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2028

The Winter Swimming World Championship 2026 (WSWC) in Oulu has come to an end, with more than 1,700 swimmers from 50 countries taking part.

Congratulations to the 26 Argentine swimmers who represented us with pride, winning 10 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze medals! In addition, Tomás Bonilla and Tomás Barrios were recognized among the top three swimmers of the 2025-2026 World Cups.

At the closing gala, where Argentina was officially announced as the next host, attendees included Ambassador Carlos Mascias, Nadia Ricci, Minister of Production, Trade and Industry of the Province of Santa Cruz, and Matías Ola, Director of @NadandoArgentina , as well as Lauri Nikula por la Ciudad de Oulu y Mariia Yrjö-Koskinen, president of the International Winter Swimming Association (IWSA).

The evening was filled with culture and emotion thanks to the Paraná Tango group, who brought Argentine folklore, malambo, and tango to Oulu.

We look forward to welcoming you to WSWC 2028 in El Calafate, Province of Santa Cruz, for a truly unique experience of freedom among glaciers, nature, and unforgettable emotions.

Argentina welcomes you with open arms, the warmth of its people, and the pride of hosting the Winter Swimming World Championship 2028.
