"María de Buenos Aires", by Astor Piazzolla (music) and Horacio Ferrer (libretto), was performed on March 27 and 28 in Porvoo (Taidetehdas) and on April 4 in Helsinki (Savoy Theatre). The play was first released in 1968 and is the first of the gender of tango opera or "tango operita".
On this occasion, the piece was performed by Argentine singer Martin Alvarado and his peers Angelika Klas (Finland) in the role of Maria and Daniel Bonilla-Torres (Puerto Rico, USA) in the role of the elf, being accompanied by Finnish quintet Tanguedia.
